Heavens above

Well I came across this slightly off-putting but deeply amusing spangly Mary and Jesus whilst browsing around a charity shop.

I almost burst out laughing. Instead I stared for several seconds in total amazement before grabbing my camera and snapping the happy couple.

Brilliant. Simply brilliant.

Nom nom

A nice way to start a Monday Bank-holiday.

Yes, I have a Kindle. The book I’ve chosen as my first Kindle book is my favourite Discworld novel Night Watch.

“Do the job that’s in front of you.”

Good times.

This is a Job for…

Ha. Job. The pun will become apparent momentarily.
I’m presently (07:25 Friday morning) sat in a Starbucks enjoying a coffee before work. I was trying to read but have been distracted by several people on a big table to my left. Four men and two women.
They were quite chatty and all laughing when I came in earlier. I like those sounds. Whilst reading my book I became aware that it had gotten quiet on that table and that a discussion in a rather monotone way was taking place. Once I caught a few words I couldn’t of course concentrate on my book…
…’ and Job said onto God,  “‘why are you you doing these things?”‘
…’ and God said to Job “‘This shall be your salvation.”‘

I don’t know how to deal with such people.

Confused.

Shard Watch (3)

I had a walk around London today. It was a lovely walk lasting about three hours.

Breakfast at Centre Point, lunch at Southwark Cathedral and terminating at the Shard. Inbetween, pictures were taken. Yay!

The London 2012 Olympic Countdown Clock in Trafalgar Square

After just one day of being set up, this clock stopped.

From the BBCNews website:

‘The official countdown clock to the London 2012 Olympics has stopped just one day after it was unveiled in Trafalgar Square.

The clock was the centrepiece of celebrations to mark 500 days to go to the 2012 Games, which it counts down in days, hours, minutes and seconds.

But the digital display has now become stuck on 500 days and 7:06:56.

Officials from Omega say they are investigating the technical problems.’

This is The Mall. At the end there is Buckingham Palace where Queenie lives. In a few weeks' time, this street is going to be jammed with humans from all over the world.

On my way to the Shard. Taken from the south-side of Waterloo Bridge

Southwark Cathedral restaurant. I took this prior to going in and having a lovely Walnut cake and tea. Yum yum

Getting closer. Taken from the back of Southwark Cathedral

From the base of the Shard at London Bridge station

The little hive of activity taking place underneath the Shard

Guts 'n' all

Underneath

Taken from the same spot as the above photo.

For my journey home, I decided to get the train from London Bridge to East Dulwich. At the end of currently closed Platforms 12 and 13 is the underbelly of the Shard.

Terminal

I love London!

Crow T. Robot lives

Joel: What do you want for Christmas, Crow?
Crow T. Robot: I wanna decide who lives and who dies!

You’ve got to love Crow.

So, I saw this aerosol can  pretending to be CTR.

Crow T. Robot: Well, a good thing about the movie was it wasn't any longer. Joel: And a bad thing? Crow T. Robot: It was this long.

Crow: What's the point of a helmet in skydiving, in case you land on your head?
